Asphalt Patching & Repair in Missouri
Asphalt doesn’t last forever—especially here in Missouri where temperature swings, moisture, and traffic all take their toll. Over time, even well-built surfaces begin to show signs of wear, most commonly cracking and potholes.
At 417 Striping & Sealing, we focus on practical, long-lasting repairs that restore the integrity of your pavement without wasting your budget. Whether it’s minor cracking or full pothole repair, we bring the right equipment and experience to get it done right the first time.
Crack Sealing
Cracks are usually the first sign your asphalt is starting to fail—and they’re also the easiest to fix if caught early.
When water seeps through cracks, it weakens the base beneath your asphalt. That’s when small issues turn into major repairs.
We use a hot-applied rubberized sealant to fill and protect cracks, stopping water intrusion and extending the life of your pavement. It’s one of the most cost-effective ways to protect your investment.
Pothole Repair
Potholes aren’t just an eyesore—they’re a liability. They can damage vehicles, create tripping hazards, and quickly get worse if ignored.
Missouri’s freeze-thaw cycles are a major contributor, and once a pothole forms, it won’t fix itself. The longer it sits, the larger and more expensive it becomes to repair.
We offer two types of repair depending on your needs, timing, and weather conditions:
Cold Patch (Temporary Fix)
Cold patching is a fast, short-term solution when conditions don’t allow for hot asphalt.
- Best used during colder months or when plants are closed
- Ideal for urgent repairs that can’t wait
- Restores a safe, drivable surface quickly
We install and compact the material to stabilize the area, but it’s important to understand this is a temporary fix—not a permanent repair.
Hot Asphalt Patch (Permanent Repair)
For a long-term solution, hot mix asphalt is the way to go.
This process involves removing the damaged area entirely—not just filling the hole—and replacing it with new, properly installed asphalt.
Here’s how we do it:
- Saw-cut the damaged section to create clean edges
- Remove all failed asphalt and unstable material
- Apply a bonding agent to ensure proper adhesion
- Install fresh hot mix asphalt
- Compact for a smooth, durable finish
While it requires more labor and material, hot patching delivers a repair that blends in with your existing surface and lasts for years—not months.
